Nutrition & Meals
Delicious and Healthy meals are a big deal at Weight Crafters!
Your Daily Nutrition is Paramount
Part of our job while you're here, is to get you used to eating a more healthful diet. However, if you think "fat camp" or "fat farm" has to mean being hungry and eating terrible food - you're in for a surprise!
We provide three prepared meals per day, as well as a snack and protein shake (for some clients) per day. We try to change things up with new recipes and dishes on a regular basis.
Your meals are prepared with only the best ingredients that will accommodate your fitness, wellness and weight loss goals.
You won't go hungry at Weight Crafters!
In fact, you'll enjoy:
- Balanced meals
- Healthy ingredients
- Proper portions
- Trying new foods
- Discovering healthy food swaps
- Feeling satiated and satisfied
- Taking your favorite recipes home with you!
What are meals like at weight loss camp?
Meals and menus will vary across weight loss camps, and we—having never attended any other camp or retreat—cannot speak to the nutritional value, taste or variety of meals at those places. When searching for a program to attend, you will see that some places serve chef prepared meals in a community dining setting. Others may have cooking classes.
At Weight Crafters, we like to simplify nutrition for our clients.
Changing your lifestyle and eating a healthy diet does not have to mean eating plain chicken every day or cutting out your favorite food groups. In fact, many people who struggle with weight loss are actually under eating altogether or missing important macronutrients due to following popular "miracle" diets.
Though some people have special dietary needs, we serve the majority of our clients a balanced meal plan, made with simple but delicious ingredients. Many of our clients comment something along the lines of, "Hey, I could actually make this at home!" or "Wow, even my husband would like this!"
And that's the point. The purpose of our program is to help you see that you can enjoy healthy food, transform your body, and make simple—yet extremely effective—positive changes to your lifestyle.
Here are some things to expect:
- Lean proteins: Meals may include chicken, fish, tofu, or other sources of lean protein to help support muscle mass and satiety.
- Whole grains: Whole grains such as brown rice, quinoa, or whole grain pasta are included to provide fiber and complex carbohydrates.
- Vegetables: Meals often include a variety of colorful vegetables to provide nutrients, fiber, and to help keep calorie counts low.
- Healthy fats: Healthy fats such as olive oil, avocado, or nuts help to support overall health and satiety.
- Limited processed foods and added sugars: We avoid processed foods and added sugars, which can be high in calories and low in nutrients.
A program truly designed to implement
a sustainable lifestyle change.
Have Special Dietary Needs?
We have clients that suffer from special dietary needs, food allergies, type 2 diabetes and many other factors. Before you attend Weight Crafters, we'll ask you to complete a full health evaluation and food questionnaire, and any potential conflicts with nutrition will be discussed and planned for.
Please note that Weight Crafters does not accept clients with Type 1 Diabetes. We strongly recommend that you attend a program with medical supervision if you suffer from Type 1 Diabetes.
Food Preferences
Basic health includes proper nutrition, movement, sleep and stress management. When participating in a weight loss program, it is imperative that you consume enough calories to sustain energy levels and ensure proper function of the metabolism and body—so we can't have you skipping meals simply due to your preferences.
Though we encourage trying new foods and food combinations, we understand that even if you are not allergic, there are some foods you just don't like and won't eat. As long as we are made aware (through our food questionnaire and health evaluation) before your arrival, our staff will provide alternatives to ensure that you're receiving the proper amount of calories, nutrients and energy.
There's nothing to worry about—we've got you covered.
